Smoke (Dym) es un cortometraje del joven director de bielorrusia Grzegorz Cisiecki. Cisiecki dirige y escribe esta obra que ha sido descrita como: “La historia de una persona que se convirtió en el prisionero de una locura surrealista”.

Teniendo en cuenta de antemano esa información, los que hemos visto producciones y obras surrealistas ya nos imaginaremos lo que vamos a observar. Y aquí hay una mezcla bastante explosiva de sueño, locura y surrealismo.

Debo decir inicialmente, que me recordó bastante en ocasiones el estilo de David Lynch, e incluso a Cronenberg. Estéticamente tiene elementos muy interesantes y muy bien trabajados. Me gustaron algunas tomas, donde se destaca un buen manejo de la cámara, también la destacable creación de una atmósfera que va acorde con la situación planteada, y que el uso de la música refuerza la escena.

En cuanto al significado y el argumento, hay muchas lecturas que se pueden hacer de forma dispersa dependiendo también del espectador. Hay un suceso de imágenes en donde el generador de todas esas historias aparentemente sin sentido, es el joven que aparece en casi todas las escenas. En la mayoría de las escenas imagina a una bella joven, por lo que se puede pensar que es una historia de amor o de desamor. En fin, son muchas las lecturas. Incluso me atrevería a catalogarla como cine experimental.

Pero lo verdaderamente destacable del trabajo de Cisiecki, es su talento tras la cámara y la interesante utilización de los elementos técnicos, estéticos y artísticos que le permitirá seguramente llegar muy lejos como realizador. Espero ver su próximo cortometraje o su primer largometraje.

Smoke (Dym) is a short film by young Belarusian director Grzegorz Cisiecki. Cisiecki directs and writes this film that has been described as: "The story of the person who became the captive of surrealistic madness."

Given this information beforehand, the public that have seen productions and surrealist works, they can imagine what they will see. And here is a very explosive mixture of sleep, madness and surrealism.

I must say initially that sometimes reminded me quite the style of David Lynch, and even Cronenberg. Aesthetically has elements very interesting and very well crafted.I liked some shots, which emphasizes good management of the camera, the remarkable creation of an atmosphere that is consistent with the situation in question, and that the use of music reinforces the scene.

As to the meaning and story, there are many readings you can do so also depending on the audience dispersed. There is an event of images where the generator of all these seemingly pointless stories, is the young man who appears in almost every scene. In most scenes imagine a beautiful girl, so you may think it is a story of love or heartbreak. There may be many readings. I would even classify it as an experimental movie.

But the truly remarkable work of Cisiecki, is his talent behind the camera and the interesting use of the technical, aesthetic and artistic that will undoubtedly go a long way as a filmmaker. I hope to see your next short or your feature film debut.
